3 Things I Wish I Knew At The Start of My Sexual Trauma & Womb Healing Journey

In this blog post, I’m going to share 3 things I wish I had known at the start of my personal sexual trauma and womb healing journey. Let’s dive into it!

Lesson #1: You’re Doing The Best You Can At All Times, Promise

At each moment, know that you’re truly doing the best you can.

Trauma healing can feel like a constant unfoldment, a de-layering and growth process that can very often ask you to redefine who you are, who you came here to be, and analyze your core beliefs about yourself.

Oh yeah, and that’s on top of regular duties and life responsibilities.

When I was deep in my own healing journey, I was forced to learn patience with myself as I learned, I grew, and I adjusted to my “new normal” as I healed deeply from sexual trauma.

The truth? Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Lesson #2: You Don’t Need To Have It All Figure Out By Now

Truth? You don’t need to have every single thing figured out right now.

Life is about evolution. Healing is about reclaiming parts of you that were taken, broken, shattered, bringing those pieces back, and turning them into something better than before. That’s alchemic processing, too.

Lessons, wisdom, healing – they all compound on top of each other. The layers of healing, revival, and reclamation weave and bind together like a blanket of comfort and strength that you get to take with you throughout your life, like a quilt of lessons.

Lesson #3: You’re Stronger Than You Think, But Sometimes You Need To See It For Yourself

Let me tell you a story.

I’m taking you all the way back to mid-Pandemic lockdown season. I was wrapping up my business degree, in the first few years of reconciling, remembering, and healing from my own sexual trauma when I had this moment.

I was kneeling in front of the toilet puking (TMI, I know) when I felt like I had hit my absolute capacity for strength. I felt like I had been pushed to the limits of how strong I could be, and I needed about 20% more strength to get through it.

So…I just did. I pushed, and the strength was there.

In that moment, I realized just how strong I could be. But strength doesn’t come from theory, it comes when you truly need it.
